Avengers: Doomsday Casts Sandra Hüller in Cameo Role

Marvel has reportedly cast Sandra Hüller in Avengers: Doomsday for a secret cameo role. Information about this last-minute addition comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which stated that the Project Hail Mary star will appear on screen when Earth's Mightiest Heroes take on Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom this December.

Although much of the cast and their parts in the movie have been confirmed, details about Hüller's role were not shared. While Marvel Studios and directors Joe and Anthony Russo almost certainly plan for plenty of superhero moments and surprises, how Hüller fits into that plan remains to be seen.

Sandra Hüller is a German actor with a decades-long career on movie and TV screens. She was nominated for Actress in a Leading Role at the 2024 Oscars for her part in Anatomy of a Fall, but is also known for her parts in films like Digger, The Zone of Interest, and Fatherland.

As for her Marvel introduction, all that is known for now is that she'll appear in a cameo part, meaning she probably won't show up for much of its 2-hour-and-45-minute runtime. Like major stars before her, it's possible we could only see Hüller's character during a stinger moment shown during the film's credits sequence.

Marvel will use Doomsday's plot to set up the release of Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027. The Russo brothers are noted to be knee-deep in post-production for the film ahead of its December 18, 2026, premiere. Avengers: Doomsday will bring the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and more when it arrives in a few months.
