Battlefield 6 Devs Respond After Players Take Aim at 'Secuty' Typo and Cosmetic With 5 Pistols
The Battlefield 6 team has responded after players took aim at a few controversial cosmetics added in Season 5. Battlefield Studios addressed these concerns on its official Discord server, providing background information on two skins that caused a stir with the launch of Battlefield 6 Season 5 this past week. The full text confirmed at least one issue has a fix in the works, while the other will seemingly remain the same.
The cosmetics—one with what appeared to be a typo in the word "security" and another featuring infantry sporting a whopping five pistol holsters—were officially added on October 13th and almost immediately drew ire from fans. The developers confirmed that the misspelling, which took the shape of the non-existent word "secuty" on an armband of a McNeil skin, will be fixed when Battlefield 6 Season 5 launches in November.
Regarding the typo, BF Studios acknowledged the community's concerns and stated they are examining their internal processes to tighten up quality control. For the second cosmetic, the Midnight Mirage skin with its five pistol holsters, the developers clarified that this design was intentional. They explained it is a "nod to over-the-top action movie tropes where an operative inexplicably has another backup weapon strapped to every spare inch of gear." The team confirmed that players should not expect these pistols to be dropped anytime soon.
As they continue to develop new ideas, the developers thanked the community for its continued feedback and support. Battlefield 6 Season 5 will roll out over three waves; the first added the Vegas Strip and Area 51 maps, while European Casino is slated for November 10th.
