The developers behind Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse are enthusiastic about all the “horny” fanart they’ve seen of the game’s characters, saying they specifically made them "hot" to appeal to fans. Following the release on October 15, players have reacted strongly to the character designs, particularly Trevor Belmont and the monsters in Paris. Speaking with marketing director Bérenger Dupré and lead designer Sandro Bordier, the developers revealed that they are absolutely loving the thirsty reactions and associated fanart seen on social media. The duo joked about the reception, noting how well-received characters like Trevor were. When asked if they could add a “Hot Dads Edition,” Dupré suggested there should be a Game Award for hot dads. He continued by stating, “It’s always fun to see the fanart, because we know how important and dear these characters are to the fans... And for now, the reception is very, very emotional.” Bordier confirmed that making the characters attractive was intentional: “Yes, like we know some characters are hot. It’s a choice, actually. Like it’s a vibe. We’re pretty proud of it.” He added they were super happy with how fans reacted to the designs and voice actor reveals. The article notes that Castlevania: Belmont's Curse received solid reviews, praised for bringing Konami’s beloved series into the modern era with fast-paced action.
