CD Projekt Releases Official List of All the Improvements in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered

CD Projekt has released an official list detailing all the improvements made for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. The developer broke down these enhancements into four main categories: visual, combat, quality of life, and miscellaneous. CD Projekt stated that since the original launch, they have continued to develop and improve the game, noting that Remastered represents a massive undertaking with far-reaching changes affecting every aspect of the title.

VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS: The world is more detailed than ever, featuring improved textures for environments, NPCs, and monsters, along with major enhancements to foliage and reworked lighting, rendering, and ray tracing. Key visual additions include Path Tracing (PC Exclusive) for stunning visuals and PS5 Pro Support utilizing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) for smooth 60 frames per second gameplay with ray tracing.

COMBAT IMPROVEMENTS: Combat has been overhauled to feel more modern, engaging, and responsive. The skill tree has been rebuilt entirely, offering deeper flexibility in character progression. Gameplay enhancements include revamped animations, brutal new finishers, an adaptive camera system, and refreshed visual effects for all five witcher signs (Aard, Igni, Yrden, Quen, and Axii). Enemy encounters are also more immersive due to updated enemy behavior.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS: These updates focus on immersion and usability. Geralt’s movement animations and Roach's traversal have been made more fluid and realistic. The Witcher Senses feature has been reworked for increased immersion, while the UI features a refreshed main menu and clearer quest notifications. Additionally, Transmogrification allows players to change the look of weapons and armor without sacrificing their stats.

MISCELLANEOUS IMPROVEMENTS: Other significant additions include an expanded Photo Mode with new poses and filters, Mod.io integration for cross-platform mod support, and a new accessibility feature called Bard’s Ballad, designed for players with cognitive limitations. For console versions, the Nintendo Switch 2 version adds motion controls and gyro aiming for greater precision.
