A Japanese news show claims it’s found the next popular thing in Japan: drinkable Street Fighter 6 trading cards. Each card contains a shot of energy, 12ml to be precise, and features designs from Capcom’s fighting game roster. You simply fold one of the cards in half and sup the little juice droplet from the center. The cards are called Energy Arts, and the news clip showed designs for Ryu, E. Honda, Dhalsim, Jamie, and Vega.

A Japanese news show featured drinkable trading cards in its ranking of possible hit products for 2027. Each card contains 12ml of an energy drink, and the card/drink company already has a collaboration with Capcom's Street Fighter. The news channel predicted that the product will be a big thing in Japan in 2027. According to the show’s ranking, the Energy Arts cards came in fifth, behind this mysterious collection of odd names: Human Certificate, Fresh Food Crane Game, Muse Charm, and Edible Cactus “Sabo-Vege.”

Energy Arts cards were originally announced earlier in the year. The official press release said there are 24 cards to collect, and the idea behind the product was to “overturn the conventional idea of drinking” with what it called a “smart replenishment.” It was created with esports players in mind, letting them get sustenance and energy between rounds without taking time out for things like “drinking” a bottle of water. The press release noted that since concentration is required during activities like gaming or exams, refueling should not be an interruption. Instead of relying on caffeine like most energy drinks, the formula is built around what the company calls “fast-acting amino acids.” Additionally, the small quantity of juice inside cuts down on “the toilet problem,” and the cards can remain unsupped for 18 months.
