The arrival of the cold season has brought with it one of the biggest content drops since launch: the Frozen Trail 2.0 Update for ARC Raiders. This major patch is packed with fresh challenges, new features, and a comprehensive list of fixes and improvements, ensuring there is something exciting for every player, whether they are looking to master new mechanics or simply enjoy quality-of-life enhancements.

Players searching for information about ARC Raiders updates are likely eager to dive into the deep mechanical changes that define this release. At the heart of the update is a complete reimagining of the Raider Skill Tree. Developers noted that player feedback and data indicated the previous system wasn't offering sufficiently interesting ways to build characters or refine playstyles. The goal of this revamp is twofold: addressing under-performing skills and making choice and expression a core feature of character development.

The new Skill Tree mechanics are significantly more complex than before. Instead of simply having two selectable skills and two 'paths' in the middle sections, players now encounter one path where the node presents a binary choice between two skills—a choice that can be revisited upon resetting the skill tree. Furthermore, at the end of each branch, players must make a decision by choosing up to two out of three available skills after meeting the required skill point investment. This restructuring promises deeper customization and more impactful playstyle choices.

Beyond character progression, the game's core systems have been overhauled. The previous currency, Cred, has been removed entirely from the game, replaced by Reward Points. These points are automatically applied toward progress on whichever pass the player currently has active. Progression is now managed through a new system called the Reward Pass, which represents an evolution of the existing Raider Decks. Players can start with the Frozen Trail Pass, featuring 60 levels across both Free and Premium tracks. For those who invested in previous content, all existing rewards are preserved and moved into the Legacy Pass, allowing players to continue progressing there at any time, though only one Reward Pass can be active simultaneously.

Customization and base building have also received major upgrades. Players can now personalize their gear using Weapon Stencils, a new cosmetic option that allows for various stencil patterns on weapons. These stencils are similar to blueprints; once learned, they can be applied to compatible weapons, though players should remember that stenciled weapons remain vulnerable and can still be looted if the player is downed. Furthermore, Outposts can now be expanded by completing specific projects. Similar to how blueprints function for furniture crafting, these new methods allow players to build out their bases.

The update introduces several ways to earn points and rewards outside of core gameplay. Feats have been reorganized into three distinct categories: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Weekly milestones provide a consistent source of income, granting 250 Reward Points each, with three such milestones available every week. Additionally, players can engage with content creators by watching streams; specific attachments like the Oxygen Respirator require viewing at least 60 minutes, while the Mailbox requires 120 minutes. These streamer rewards will be live between October 8 and November 4, 2026.

Finally, developers have addressed concerns regarding game integrity and economy health. The team has begun taking further action to restrict accounts that store high amounts of duplicated items and are actively removing any items obtained through duplication from player inventories. This measure is being implemented to correct the in-game economy and clean up exploits from the past. With such a massive overhaul—from mechanical choices within the Skill Tree to new progression passes and cosmetic options—the Frozen Trail 2.0 update promises a significant boost to gameplay depth for all Raiders.
