Physint Update: Hideo Kojima Shares New Info on His Upcoming Metal Gear Spiritual Successor
Renowned game director Hideo Kojima revived his Koji10 podcast after a year and shared casting, story, and development updates on Physint, his upcoming next-generation action-espionage game and spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid. According to the summary of the 79-minute English-subtitled podcast, more details about Physint are available. Kojima described it as a project commemorating his 40th anniversary as a game developer, aiming to evoke the roots of the Metal Gear Solid games while providing a new interactive spy action experience. Regarding the story and cast, Kojima stated that he has already finalized the plot and personally pitched all the actors, noting that about 70% are apparently fans of his work. Character names have been decided, and filming is set to begin next year, with Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe already scanned for roles. Furthermore, Kojima mentioned that while Physint is a major focus, he is also developing another game for Microsoft, the spiritual successor to *Death Stranding*, which he expects will be released before Physint.
